My mother and niece came up to Black Friday shop with me and mine :-) We piled six of us into mom's car ("Grandma, we look like Mexicans") and headed into town. Since Ann (niece, age 15) had never seen IU's campus before, my mom asked me to show it to her. So we drove around the square and down Kirkwood. We parked, I pointed out the "Purdouche" t-shirt (go IU!), and debated where to eat. Most aren't very adventurous, so we headed to Which Wich.
When entering, we started looking at the menu, all confused. The fella behind the counter came out and, in a voice meant for a tour guide, showed us how to fill out our orders on the sandwich bags. Pick a category (chicken, Italian, turkey, ...), grab that bag, and start checking things off. Yes, the menu is printed on the sandwich bag... Bread, size of sandwich, toasted or cold, and any toppings (about 20 from which to choose).
I opted for gyro meat on wheat, added tzasiki (sp?) sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and feta cheese. Voila - gyro sandwich (sort of). It was wonderful. I had the smaller size and a bag of chips, and was stuffed. Mom had a ham & cheese (good). Leo opted for a TBR (turkey bacon ranch) which he said was really good. Art had something different (sorry, I can't ask him because he's still asleep) and chowed 10" of it. Ann had a buffalo chicken sandwich. Everyone was really happy with their sandwiches, but Roma (freshman in college, home for the holiday). She had some sandwich with Italian meat, and none of us liked it. We were so surprised there was a bad sandwich because the rest was so good, that we all passed hers around for a bite. And then it went into the trash. LOL.
We loved the food. We loved the multitude of choices. We will return soon...
