Gosh, who knew my little blog would get me free food? As I was sitting at work yesterday, five desserts from Feast showed up at my desk. Considering I work about 45 minutes from there, it was quite a treat. Thanks Tom! <waves> I will re-review this place once I go for a meal. Until then, here's the scoop on the desserts :)
Tiramisu -- I lived in Italy. So did my friend Shar. We dove into this tiramisu as if it was, well, hell, I dunno... as if it was tiramisu! I had a bite before she got to my cube. I declared it better than sex. When she had a taste, her eyes rolled back in her head and she had a similar comment. I think one other person got a taste of it, but we devoured the rest. It was a-maz-ing.
Peanut Butter Pie -- This was also great. Not nearly-orgasmic like the tiramisu, but an awesome dessert. I think I had about half of it, too. I'm surprised I didn't go into a sugar coma yesterday!
Coconut Caramel Cupcake -- This was large with lots of icing and something in the middle. It was also very good. Half of it actually made it home, where Lena pounced on it. She was only eating the frothy icing (which was nearly an inch think in places), but I think she evenutally ate the rest of the cupcake.
Apricot Chocolate Brownie -- Good. Not my favorite. Perhaps because there was actually something healthy involved? LOL
Salted Chocolate Caramel Shortbreat -- I'm not a chocaholic. Some have tried to tell me I'm not really a woman since I'm not totally into chocolate (well, I am an engineer...). This dessert was designed for a woman other than me, because it was very chocolaty. The salt/chocolate combo was really odd to me. Definitely #5 of the 5.
I'm very excited about going to Feast now to see what they can do with real food. And have some more tiramisu :-D
Angie,
ReplyDeleteI hoped you would like them, but Wow, every merchant and producer of (almost) every product everywhere would like to have the review you gave Feasts Tiramisu.
Warning: They don't have the same desserts everyday, so you might want to call ahead so that you don't get your hopes up if they don't have the Tiramisu.
Tom
Shar and I met at Feast for dinner, along with our two daughters. I had a carafe of wine (made me feel like I was in Italy! although the carafe here was half the size of one there...) and the burger of the day -- the Bella Vita. They had me sold on the name. When they started describing a burger with olive oil and mascarpone, I was hooked. What a surprise to find asparagus on there, too. It was great. I had a whopping three sweet potato fries on the side, which were ok.
ReplyDeleteThe other three had a Sockeye Salmon fillet. They loved it.
For dessert, the ladies had tiramisu (of course!) and the girls had some berries. We all topped it off with an espresso (hey, we did all live in Italy for awhile!).
Lounging on a pation enjoying great food and great friends... That's what life's all about.
